How to Download and Use the Abbreviation File
If you use Endnote to format references for a publication, you know that
hardly any of our journals are in the Style pulldown. Well, here are some of
the main ones. There's also a file of abbreviations for over 100 of our
journals. You will need to use this file in conjunction with the styles to
get the correctly abbreviated or full citation.
About the
Style Files
All styles have the main document types (journal article,
book, book chapter). Some styles have a few other types, which may not be in
the exact style of the journal. Here are the styles:
How to
Download and Use the Style Files
These instructions are for Endnote 3. They will probably
work for Endnote 2.

Mac

- Click archive.sit to download a self-extracting
compressed file of the journal styles.
- If your browser
extracts the files automatically, you will get the archive.sit file
and a decompressed Archive Folder on your desktop.
- If your browser
does not extract the files, save archive.sit to the desktop, then drag
it onto Stuffit Expander. You'll find it somewhere in your browser
folder, or get the latest for free from the Aladdin site.
- Rename the Archive
Folder to Sport Science.
- Find and open the
Endnote folder in your applications folder, and open the Styles
folder.
- Drag the Sport
Science folder into the Styles folder.

- Open your favorite
library in Endnote, go to Styles/Set Styles Folder..., open the
Sport Science folder, then select the style you want.

any other library that you want to use for making formatted reference
